Gavin also owns a ski resort in Norway whereas Greg owns Calypso Tavern, a casino and cabaret diner in Fort De France, the capital of Martinique. Their adoptive kinfolk Loretta and Tobias provide parental support with Loretta constantly displaying her comical demeanour.

Their twenty-six year old daughter Veronique is a nurse. No one is aware of her romantic desires for Gavin. Unfortunately for Veronique Gavin loves Susannah, who was a cabaret singer and often performed at Calypso Tavern, until she tragically died. Even a year after her death Gavin is still bereaved. He also believes someone is trying to kill him, but who? Gavin is angered that the people closest to him doubt his sanity. Events unfold that Gavin can not explain or understand including being kidnapped and lost in the Norwegian mountains. Chapter one starts at present day.

Chapter two begins a three month flashback. The story unfolds through the following chapters containing murder, comedy and romance, before reaching a dramatic conclusion.
